A classic Sri Lankan dessert, very sweet, with a crystalline texture that melts in your mouth. This recipe was developed for Mary Anne Mohanraj's cookbook A Feast of Serendib (available for purchase here.)

Contains sweetened condensed milk, sugar, cashews, vanilla extract, and butter.

Materials

  • Chiffon: Lightweight and translucent, an ultra-sheer 100% polyester fabric printed using ecologically-safe transfer sublimation inks that provide vibrant color and strong wash durability.  

  • Modern Jersey: A lightweight jersey fabric with plenty of stretch and a cotton-like feel. Knitted from 95% polyester and 5% spandex and printed using ecologically-safe transfer sublimation inks that provide vibrant color and strong wash durability. 

  • Poly Crepe De Chine: Lightweight and semi-sheer, a 100% polyester crepe fabric printed using ecologically-safe transfer sublimation inks that provide vibrant color and strong wash durability.

Care information

  • Chiffon: Machine wash cool on a gentle/delicate setting, using phosphate-free detergent. Machine dry on a low temperature setting. Iron on the reverse side of the fabric. Dry clean if preferred.
  • Modern jersey: Wash separately in cool water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.
  • Poly crepe de chine: Wash separately in cool water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.
