Perennial tells the story of Kate Smith, an aspiring artist facing a difficult cancer diagnosis, and Devan McLeod, a flower shop owner. It draws on the experiences of the author, Mary Anne Mohanraj, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and treated (successfully) with chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. This little book intercuts poems she wrote over the course of that year with a garden romance. Mohanraj is an enthusiastic Chicagoland amateur gardener, and during treatment, she took great solace in her garden. She hopes this book bring solace and joy to its readers.

- Modern Jersey: A lightweight jersey fabric with plenty of stretch and a cotton-like feel. Knitted from 95% polyester and 5% spandex and printed using ecologically-safe transfer sublimation inks that provide vibrant color and strong wash durability.
- Poly Crepe De Chine: Lightweight and semi-sheer, a 100% polyester crepe fabric printed using ecologically-safe transfer sublimation inks that provide vibrant color and strong wash durability.

- Chiffon: Machine wash cool on a gentle/delicate setting, using phosphate-free detergent. Machine dry on a low temperature setting. Iron on the reverse side of the fabric. Dry clean if preferred.
- Modern jersey: Wash separately in cool water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.
- Poly crepe de chine: Wash separately in cool water using a gentle machine cycle. Machine dry using a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.
